Negative Filter: The Blackout (debut album)
Negative Filter, based out of San Diego, is a Binational project, with musicians form San Diego and Tijuana, was formed back in the summer of 2003 in Tijuana Mexico where they performed in local venues and music festivals across the state, current members includes Daniel J. – vocals and guitar, Alex Brahms – Drums and Joel Sotomayor – Bass. In 2005, the three-piece alternative rock band decided to take it to the next level and cross their music over the border, gaining immediate acceptance by performing in well know venues all over San Diego and Los Angeles. Classified as alternative rock they are easily seperated from the rest by their melodic, powerful, dark sound and their roots that dig deep into metal, hard rock, progressive, and blues. In 2006 the band redefined its sound and closed the cycle of changes by winning the infamous ‘LOS ANGELES MUSIC AWARD FOR METAL ARTIST OF THE YEAR’ which was featured on L.A. ‘s Dirty Dave show at KCLA In march of 2007, continuing the hard work, the band released their first Indie album entitled THE BLACKOUT and have been playing all around San Diego, north county and Los Angeles.
